How To Curate a Virtual Summit That Sparks Real Connection and Collective Growth
Designing Transformational Online Experiences that Build Momentum
Every month I bring you new voices and interesting people from my community who are doing cool and inspiring stuff.
This month, my special guest is
, Founding Member of The Lemon Tree Mindset and host of a digital summit you canβt miss. This woman alone is bringing together 25 experts across different fields to help creators and solopreneurs grow and take their businesses to the next level.
Iβm thrilled to be one of the speakers and Iβd love for you to join the Summit this month too.
I invited Michele to tell us more about it to give you FOMO.
Also, as an entrepreneur myself, Iβm super inspired by how sheβs putting this together and the behind-the-scenes. Today we get a VIP pass into the Summit backstage.
When I first envisioned the Build Your Influence Ecosystem summit, I wasnβt just thinking about speaker lineups or ticket sales. I was dreaming of something more expansive β a living, breathing collaborative experience that would not only spotlight brilliant voices but also catalyze lasting relationships and momentum for everyone involved.
It wasnβt always smooth, and there were many moving parts behind the scenes. But with intention, collaboration, and a bit of tech magic, we brought the vision to life. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at what it really takes to curate a summit that feels alive β one that builds community, not just content.
The Story Behind the Summit
1. Aligning With Purpose: Choosing the Right Voices
Before sending a single invite, I asked myself: What kind of stories do I want this summit to tell?
I sought out speakers whose values echoed the mission of the Multidimensional Leaders brand - entrepreneurs and change-makers who werenβt just here to teach, but to co-create transformation. This filter ensured every session felt authentic, soul-aligned, and actionable.
2. Designing for Connection, Not Performance
We tossed the traditional webinar playbook. No slides. No passive presentations. Instead, we created interactive, high-energy sessions filled with hot seat coaching, Q&A, and live breakthroughs. This wasnβt about performance, it was about presence. It turned each session into a co-created space, something the audience could feel, not just watch.
3. Building Buzz Through Shared Momentum
Instead of relying solely on ads, we turned our community into co-creators. Behind-the-scenes content, speaker vlogs, collaborative blog posts - every piece served to build anticipation while showcasing the summitβs deeper purpose. It wasnβt just promotion, it was story seeding. This made our outreach feel personal, and it paid off in long-tail engagement.
4. Integrating My Own Voice
As I guided the overall vision, I made space to share my own journey and insights. I wove personal stories into blog posts, speaker sessions, and brand content. This wasnβt to take the spotlight - it was to model what authentic leadership looks like when storytelling becomes strategy.
5. Keeping the Energy Alive Post-Summit
Iβve seen so many summits where energy peaks, then fizzles. I didnβt want that.
We extended the experience by hosting follow-up masterminds, collaborative interviews, and networking sessions. We made sure the doors stayed open for continued connection and even seeded new projects from the relationships formed.
The Real Teamwork Behind the Scenes
Even with a clear vision and leadership, a summit like this takes a team. I led strategy, storytelling, and programming, but I didnβt do it alone.
A virtual assistant managed our speaker content, swipe files, and publishing calendar.
A designer gave our brand its visual voice through graphics and social visuals.
A tech coordinator will handle Zoom logistics and live session flow.
An automation expert built our backend in Make.com, streamlining speaker onboarding, affiliate management, and communication workflows.
We also used tools like ChatGPT, Castmagic, and Descript to create content efficiently and keep everything cohesive.
How the Summit is Making Money (and Keeps Giving Back)
Initial Revenue Streams:
VIP Ticket Sales: For a low entry fee, attendees gained access to replays, exclusive sessions, and a vault of bonus workshops.
Affiliate Links: Speakers shared custom links and earned a commission, creating win-win partnerships.
Community Partners: We collaborated with aligned communities to promote the event in exchange for perks and co-branding.
Long-Term Monetization:
The summit became a springboard into deeper offerings like our mastermind and retreat programs.
Sessions and workshops will be repurposed as evergreen content inside our membership portal.
The summit sparked interest in a collaborative Build Your Influence Ecosystem book and Substack publication, setting the stage for future consulting and thought leadership opportunities.
Hosting a summit isnβt just about the event itself, itβs about the ripple effect you create when you bring aligned voices together in service of a collective mission.
If youβre dreaming of hosting your own virtual gathering or just want a peek behind the curtain, I invite you to join us at our live event, happening June 17β18 youβll experience the energy of this model for yourself and maybe even get inspired to start your own.
