Reinvent Yourself With The Lemon Tree Mindset: The Roadmap That Helped Me Become A Writer and Public Speaker
Are you feeling lost in your career?
Do you want to do something that inspires you?
I hear you.
2 years ago, I was locked abroad due to the pandemic, unemployed in a new country, Australia, and trying to find a job.
Recruiters didn’t see my value.
I didn’t have a network.
I didn’t have a personal brand.
Rejection became the SEO keyword of my life.
I felt lost.
But one day, I had a wake-up call:
I don’t have to stay in the lobby waiting to be invited to live my best life.
2 years and 3 books later, I’m the happiest and most fulfilled I’ve ever been in my career.
I went from zero to a community of 16K+ across Substack, LinkedIn and Medium. I’m a public speaker and just signed a deal with the world’s top publisher, Penguin, for my new book, The Anti-Procrastinator. Read the story here.
My Substack newsletter has suddenly skyrocketed after 16 months of hard work and I’m just getting started.
I turned my passion into a lifestyle, and writing has become my breathing.
What changed?
My mindset.
My life didn’t need to change.
I needed to change my life…
And I did.

What I do have is a mindset framework that enabled me to be in charge, write my own story and plant my lemon tree.
That philosophy of life became my first book, the Amazon bestseller The Lemon Tree Mindset 🌳🍋 and gave birth to the newsletter you are reading.
This week it was nominated as a finalist in the 2024 International Book Awards by American Book Fest in the category of Business: Motivation.

These are some of the changes in mindset that helped me reinvent myself on my terms.
I want to share them with you to challenge and encourage you to take ownership and create your own path:
- 1 in 8 billion, that’s how special you are. You have everything in you to be successful. Embrace yourself, your uniqueness and your personality.
- If you don’t have a network, build your own: use your voice, share your thoughts, connect with people and give more than you take.
- Invest at least 10% every day in creating your ideal lifestyle (the 90-10 rule).
- Don’t spend years investing in someone else’s brand (like I did): become your own trademark.
- Use the power of affirmative language: I want to will be a successful writer.
- Don’t wait for the world to see your value; show your value to the world.
- Your today doesn’t define your tomorrow. You do: lift your anchors and start sailing.
- Rejection is redirection, but you have to steer the boat.
- You won’t fail if you keep doing what you love, but you will fail if you stop loving what you do.
- A winner’s mindset is not about winning; it’s about finding the win in every opportunity.
I turned those lessons into a book because I want to help you find your path.
You are not alone.

Hey Victoria 👋
in my childhood and puberty I spent many summers and autumns on the island of Fuerteventura. Wonderful!
Thanks for sharing our interview with your audience. Great your book got that nomination and you keep selling it via Substack and your other channels.
See you in our live in July, saw we're also both invited at Michael's cohort.
We should be having the best time on the beach but I feel pretty sick.. we caught something from kindergarten...
Hugs,
Kristina
Such a beautifully written text!
And thank you for the inspiration. I recognise some of the crossroads you’ve encountered, as I’ve walked them myself.
